Four Quadrant Journaling

One of my favorite ways to journal and draw, I learned it from poet, writer and one of my favorite teachers, Heather Sellers. She credits Lynda Barry, the famous comic and writer.

  1. Make four quadrants out of your open journal.
  2. In the first top left quadrant write: See/Saw (write in each quadrant for 3-4 min)
  3. Below: Hear/Heard
  4. Top right: Feel/Felt, tasted or To Do/Did
  5. Bottom Right: Draw a sketch of something in front of you or paint it. Make a few notes about the item. What do you love about it?

This is super fun and there’s always something fun or fresh to arrive on the page.
