Eight Monday Evenings • 7:00–8:00 PM • Zoom • September 28, October 5, 12, 19, 26, November 2, 9, 16
Limited to 12 participants
As the leaves change, join this creative journaling practice for slowing down, taking surprising note, and having some fun. Allow yourself to write what you’ve been thinking about, seeing or needing to say.
Take an hour a week to be here and be present. Through meditation, writing, poetry, and other forms of creative expression, you’ll notice what matters, reflect on your experience, and see where the writing takes you.
No pressure to be a writer. Just show up and begin.
A few words from past participants:
- “It’s lovely to be here, in a community of writers and women.”
- “I just did it. I wrote. And I love Jennifer’s approach to journaling. It’s so creative!”
- “…your approach is very validating. I accomplished my objective: to affirm and celebrate my experience.”
- “I was so tickled…I love this space so much.”
- For me it’s about keeping writing and being present, again and again.”
An Autumn Diary: Notes on Being Here is a guided creative journaling practice for women who want space and structure for recording their experiences – noting, reflect, writing, or drawing. A space to write the truth or free your creative expression.
You don’t need to think of yourself as a writer or an artist.
You bring yourself and a notebook and learn to express yourself in new creative ways.
You don’t have to do it alone.
We gather in the warmth of a small community of women.
Our 60 minutes together
- Guided meditation
- Poetry or short reading
- A writing or creative prompt
- 10 minutes of uninterupted writing (or sketch, draw, paint, collage)
- 10 more minutes – anything else you need to say on the page
- Optional sharing – hear and see what others have discovered
- Warm response rather than critique – we listen for what resonates, especially language, images, and ideas
- Closing Gratitude – what did you gain from showing up?
Come with:
– a pen, notebook or sketchbook and whatever materials you like to explore and work with
The intention of the class:
- to deepen the trust in your own voice and creative instincts
- to enjoy new ways of writing and journaling
- to share in a friendly, creative community of women
- to write truth or what you need to say
Testimonial:
“I wrote something this morning I’ve been putting off forever. It felt terrific. I’m positive I would not have been able to write this or seen what I did to create it without Jennifer’s class and guidance. She is a gift and fantastic at what she does.” – RH
