Story writing basics:
- Start in place and time.
- State the yearning. The yearning is what you want or dream of.
- Identify the conflict. Someone, thing or aspect of themself is in the way of the protagonist getting their yearning. How will they get what they want?
- What changes for the protagonist? By the end the protagonist has changed. She learned something, lost something, or decided something. A truth or lesson has been learned.
Write by hand. Slow is the fastest way. Allow your emotional truth to be revealed on the page. Show us in specific details deeply personal to you.
Keep going. Writing is a team sport.
