Description

Do you want to write a personal story, memoir, or micro-memoir?

Are you looking for a nurturing space to learn to write your story?

This memoir writing workshop and community will help capture, organize, and distill the shimmering details of your story while enhancing your confidence as a writer.

The biggest challenge with writing is that the process is often mysterious and confusing. How do we craft a story vs. write stream of consciousness? Where to begin and end? How do we structure something we’ve told a million times?

If you want to live up to something deep inside that says “Write!” you must.

In this course, you will receive:

  • writing & storytelling tools
  • ways to access themes that matter most to you
  • editorial and revision support
  • structures to organize your creative process
  • at least 4 new pieces of writing

We will study examples of personal essays, micro-memoirs, memoirs, and the essentials of storytelling.

What participants appreciate most:

  • 1:1 writing coaching & feedback
  • constructive editorial feedback in class on 2-3 pages of work

Testimonials:

When taking a memoir class with Jennifer, you’re offered a toolbox by someone who trusts you to build something honest and wild. She doesn’t operate from rigid rules or formulas; instead, she offers real tools, practical structure—and invites you to use and play with them, with your own finesse. With her, craft becomes spacious. Technique becomes liberating. And something deeper comes to rest on the page—maybe braver, maybe more enchanting, but entirely yours.

Since working with Jennifer, I write from places I didn’t know were waiting for me because she created a space where unexplored truths felt possible, and my voice—unpolished and reaching—felt like it belonged and mattered.

But the magic isn’t just in her teaching. It’s in who she draws near. In every class, you’ll find a rare mix—writers just beginning to speak aloud, and published authors returning for more depth. And everyone fits and matters. It doesn’t feel like a class. It feels like a long table you’ve always belonged at, even before you knew you were a writer.

She is a teacher in the truest sense: a guide, an artist, a fellow traveler. And the generosity of her nature—rooted in her own practice of writing, art, yoga, and meditation—makes each class something very special. I came to study memoir. I stay as a writer. – Kelly White
